UNIC brings the perspective of Italian tanning to La7

“Despite a context that still shows an overall slowdown,” said Fulvia Bacchi, Director of UNIC – Italian Tanneries, a guest on Coffee Break (La7) on the morning of 9 December, “Italian tanning continues to demonstrate its strength, both in quantitative terms and, above all, in terms of quality. It is important that the entire fashion supply chain recognises this solidity by supporting our positions, as also happened in the case of the EUDR. We hope that this result will mark the first step in a gradual recovery phase affecting not only our sector, but the entire fashion market.”
Speaking of supply-chain synergies, Bacchi appeared on La7 alongside Carlo Capasa, President of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion.
From the perspective of Italian tanning and the Italian fashion system, the discussion covered a wide range of topics, from the economic outlook to the European Anti-Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). “The year now drawing to a close,” said Capasa, “has been very challenging for the fashion industry, also due to the repercussions of the luxury crisis on orders. Italian tanning is one of the strategic industries of Made in Italy, and we hope it will find increasingly significant support at institutional level as well.”
