New UNIC Sustainability Report Website

The UNIC Sustainability Report website is now live — a platform dedicated to showcasing the environmental, social, and ethical commitment of the Italian tanning industry.

It is a dynamic and comprehensive communication tool, structured according to ESG criteria (Environment, Social, and Governance) and designed to make information accessible to a wide audience — from media, institutions, and consumers seeking general insights to technical researchers, clients, and industry experts looking for in-depth data.

Each section provides access to the latest figures and historical data on resource consumption, product and process circularity, energy efficiency, raw materials, social responsibility, health and safety, and training. It also presents ongoing and completed activities related to key sustainability topics, including chemical management (with a focus on Chromium VI), LCA/environmental footprint, traceability, deforestation, cultural projects, terminology, leather waste recovery, and exotic leathers.

The website was created to collect and centralize all sustainability information compiled over the past two decades through the UNIC Sustainability Report, which until last year was published in print and PDF format. Like the report, it will continue to be updated annually with the latest data provided by participating member companies.
